It's actually the "EXTREME" option that's too slow. Also, as I noted last time, LZHAM is the best threaded of the three, so even though BETTER is slower than LZNA -z5 or LZMA in single-threaded encode speed, it's faster threaded. (Oodle's encoder threading is very simplistic (chunking) and really needs a larger file to get full parallelism; it doesn't use all cores here; LZHAM is much more micro-threaded so can get good parallelism even on small files).
