A trailblazer is a person who is the leader in a particular
field, especially who does a particular thing before
anyone else does.

E-DICより。

a trailblazer　草分け

分解するとtrailは「通った跡」、blazeは「（道などを）切り開く」
といった意味である。blaze the trailならば「道しるべをつける」
となる。そこからtrailblazerは「道しるべをつける人」さらには
「草分け」「先駆け」の意味を持つようになった。簡単に言えば
a pioneerないしはa pioneering effortであろう。

If you set your sights on something, you decide that you want
it and try very hard to get it. Other verbs can be used
instead of 'set'.

E-DICより。

set one's sights on　目指す

この場合のsightsは「（銃などの）照準」の意味で、直訳すれば
「～に照準を定める」となるが、この表現は主に比喩的に「～を目指す、
狙う」という意味で使われる。一般には実現が困難だと思われるような
大きな目標に関して使うことが多い。sightsは常に複数形であることに注意。

He set his sights on becoming an artist.
彼は芸術家になることを目指していたんだ。

If you refer to people as the movers and shakers of a
particular event, organization, or movement, you admire
them because they are the people who take an active part
in it and make things happen, or who bring in new developments.

「大きな影響力を持つ人物，有力者，実力者，大立者」。時として，
単数形a mover and shakerで使うこともある。

Mr. Smith is only a freshman senator. He is not one of the
movers and shakers.
スミス氏はただの１年生議員だ。影響力のある大物政治家ではない

If you say that someone has a can-do attitude, you approve
of them because they are confident and willing to deal with
problems or new tasks, rather than complaining or giving up.

Can do.

「できますとも，大丈夫ですよ，よしきた」。can-doの形で，名詞の
前につける形容詞としても使う。

"I'd like you to come tomorrow afternoon." "Can do. What time?"
「あしたの午後来てほしいのですが」「大丈夫ですよ。何時に？」

If you accuse someone of pulling the wool over your eyes,
you mean that they are trying to deceive you, in order to
get an advantage over you.

E-DICより。

pull the wool over someone's eyes たぶらかす

このwoolは「（昔、男性がかぶっていた白いかつらの）羊毛」。
古いスラングでwoolはhairを意味したが、ここからきたものらしい。
この表現にも、woolの代わりにhairをあてることもあったようである。
表現全体で、「（～のかつらの）毛を目のところまで下げる」ということ。
「目を見えなくする」から転じて、

The defendant sought to pull the wool over the jury's eyes
by claiming that the bribe was a political contribution.
被告は、賄賂を政治献金だと言って陪審員をたぶらかそうとした

のように、広く「（口実などをもうけて）だます、たぶらかす」の意で用いる。
