前回に引き続き、今日は会話編です。

主に3つの方法が紹介されています。

「ポッドキャストを聞きながらのシャドーイング」では
英語に慣れるという意味でオススメされています。
これは会話というよりリスニングの練習と思っていました。

「オンラインの英会話サービス」はNOVAのお茶の間留学ですかね。

「SkypeでSkype Meモードの人に話しかけてみよう」は、
無料で海外の人と会話ができるチャット機能を使ってみようということです。
私も興味がありますが、まだやったことはありません。

大きく３つの意味があるようです。

(1)申し訳ありません，失礼しました，ごめんなさい，すみません

"What are you doing?! This is my private dressing room!"
"I beg your pardon. I thought it was the men's room."
「何してるんですか？！ ここは私専用の化粧室なのよ！」
「失礼しました。男性用の洗面所かと思ったもので」

(2)I beg your pardon!「失礼ですが，おことばですが」。相手の意見に
異を唱えるときのせりふ。

"Japanese literature stinks." "I beg your pardon.
There are many great works of literature in Japan."
「日本文学なんてくだらないね」
「おことばですが，日本には偉大な文学作品がたくさんありますよ」

(3)(I) beg (your) pardon?「何とおっしゃいましたか，もう一度言って
ください，何ですって？」。

"Pardon me. Can you tell me how to get to the station?"
"I beg your pardon?" "I said, can you direct me to the station?"
「すみませんが，駅へはどう行ったらよいのでしょうか？」
「何とおっしゃいましたか？」
「駅への道を教えてくださいと言ったのです」

kick oneself, 自分を責める、自分に腹を立てる

You use kick yourself in expressions such as
"I could have kicked myself" and "you're going to kick yourself"
to indicate that you were annoyed or are going to be annoyed
that you got something wrong.

ex) I was still kicking myself for not paying attention.

inexcusable, 許しがたい
──────────────────────────────
If you say that something is inexcusable, you are emphasizing
that it cannot be justified or tolerated because it is
extremely bad.

ex) He said the killing of innocent people was inexcusable.

A canteen is a place in a factory, shop, or college where
meals are served to the people who work or study there.

ex) Rennie had eaten his tea in the canteen

A clumsy person moves or handles things in a careless,
awkward way, often so that things are knocked over
or broken.

ex) Unfortunately, I was still very clumsy behind
