Who rattled your cage?（誰がお前の檻を鳴らしたか）という面白い 表現もある。これがどうして「お呼びじゃない」になるのか。「猿の檻」 を思い浮かべてほしい。「檻」の奥から出てきた猿に向かって「俺は檻 をガタガタ鳴らしてお前を呼んだ覚えはないよ」つまり「お呼びじゃないよ」 ということである。
