今日、英語のレッスンに行きました。村上容疑者について
ショートディスカッションをしましたが、言いたいことが
なかなか言えません。唯一ちゃんと言えたのが、Many shareholders
filed a lawsuit against Horie.　というもの。
これ、ちゃんとした英語だと褒められました。

実はこのfile a lawsuitという表現、English Aya pod
で、最近頻繁に使われた表現なので。耳に残っていたのです。

言いたいことも言えないと、だめだめだなあと毎回落ち込みますが、
落ち込んでばかりでは上達することはありません。

これを脱するには、日々のニュースに対して自分の意見を英語で
考えて書いてみる、ということを(ブログなどで)やってみると
効果があるのだろうなとぼんやりと思います。

(really) put one's seal of approval on　太鼓判（を押す）

簡単にendorse（裏書きする、認める）でも通じるが、見出しの英語の
方が「太鼓判を押す」の強い調子がよく伝わる。putの前にreallyを
入れれば、さらにそのニュアンスが強調される。直訳すれば「承認の
印を押す」ということ。

「これは私が太鼓判を押せる作品です」とその批評家は熱っぽく言った。
"This is a work I can really put my seal of approval on,"
the critic said enthusiastically.

遺跡という意味もあります。

you give it to them.

donateは寄付するというイメージしかないので、ビニエットの訳
には違和感がありますが、単に「提供する」という意味でも使われる
のでしょうか

ミニシリーズ　＜健康について＞

コーヒーといえば、以前は砂糖やミルクをたっぷりと
いれていました。昨年から砂糖を入れなくなって、
でも、ミルクは入れていたのですが、メルマガでも
紹介した食品添加物の本を読んで以来、コーヒーに
フレッシュを入れられなくなってしまいました。
今ではもっぱらブラック党です。
