いやあ、今日から４月。

我々ラジオ講座リスナーにとっては、新しい一年の始まりです。
新年を迎えたようなすがすがしさを感じているのは
私だけではないでしょう。

今年度もラジオ講座で勉強していきましょう。

今回、私の書いた記事は３つあります。

■意味を考えてみよう。答えは以下で

●shoot up
●do the trick
●haunt
●bring forth
●be bound to

●shoot up 「跳ね上がる」
──────────────────────────────
If something shoots up, it grows or increases very quickly.

●do the trick 「功を奏する、効き目がある」
──────────────────────────────
If something does the trick, it achieves what you wanted.

●haunt 「付きまとう、悩ませる」
──────────────────────────────
If something unpleasant haunts you, you keep thinking or
worrying about it over a long period of time.

ビニエットでの使われ方「ゴミに付きまとわれる」は、次の意味かな。

=plague
Something that haunts a person or organization regularly
causes them problems over a long period of time.

●bring forth 「…を発表する」
──────────────────────────────
If one thing brings forth another, the first thing produces
the second.

こちらかも。

When someone or something is brought forth, they are brought
to a place or moved into a position where people can see them.

●be bound to 「…するはずである、必ず…することになる」
──────────────────────────────

フレーズ辞典より。
be bound to do 　必ず…となる, …のはずである

There is no doubt that in the long run this procedure is
bound to produce better business practices.
この方法は，長期的に見れば必ずよりよいビジネス慣習を生み出すことになる．
