Kazuto Hayashi moved to Hong Kong at the age of 24 when he worked for Okasan Securities. He could hardly speak English and did not have any pull in Hong Kong at that time. He was novice securities salesman and his annual income approximated 5 million yen.
He bought a Hong Kong securities company 10 years later at the age of 34. Why he could climb to the top of the business for only 10 years. In a word, it's a passion.
In the second year in Hong Kong, Mr. Hayashi was sales representative of Japanese shares. He assigned a quota himself, namely 70 phone calls to customers a day and 50 walk-in sales a day.
Seventy phone calls a day is impossible even if you do it in your native language, and what is worse was that he was not good at English.
"I used to eat only Big Mac in McDonald at the beginning. I could manage to say, "Three Big Mac and one coke". My pronunciation of F sound was so bad, when I ordered Filet-O-Fish, something completely different was served." says Hayashi. (本多)
