明日の土曜日は朝から夜まで英語のイベントが目白押し。

まず、午前中は文部科学省が主催する
『英語が使える日本人』の育成のためのフォーラム２００５
＠東京ビックサイト　に行き、基調講演の元国連事務次長
の明石康氏のお話を聞きに行きます。

基調講演の後、「スーパー・イングリッシュ・ランゲージ・
ハイスクール模擬授業」を見ます。

午後は分科会「企業が求める英語力　?企業から見た英語教育?」
を傍聴します。

その後、夕方から
メルマガ「ＮＨＫラジオ英会話３００％フル活用術」の発行者のとくパパさんとお会いします。

さらに、5時半から「ＮＨＫラジオリスナーの集い」トークショー

これが終了後の9時からは二次会へとなだれ込む予定。

最終電車には間に合うように帰りたいと思います。

いくつかありました。上のリストでいうと、prime rib以降です。

If something such as costs are cut to the bone,

To crunch numbers means to do a lot of calculations
using a calculator or computer.

crunch自体は、バリバリかむ、バリバリと壊す、砕く
という意味。

prime rib 極上牛肉

ribは解剖学的にはあばら骨、料理用語ではあばら骨付きの
肉（バラ）のほかに、肉、牛肉という意味もあり。

If you live on or live off a particular source of
income, that is where you get the money that you
need.

世帯という硬い意味として、householdを捕らえていま
したが、単純に家族と言う意味でした。

アイデアや方法がcrankyであるとは、それがおかしいので
悪く言っている。これがコウビルドでは第一の意味。

ボートの底についている長い板をキール(keel)といって、
ボートの安定を保つために使われます。

If you say that someone or something is on an even
keel, you mean that they are working or progressing
smoothly and steadily, without any sudden changes.
