British stage mysterious rescue operation in Iraq
Britain has acknowledged sending a rescue mission into Iraq after an Arab television network showed pictures of what it said was a special forces Landrover captured near the northern town of Mosul.
A ministry of defence spokeswoman refused to say who or what was rescued in what she called an "extraction operation" or specify where it took place.
