I have not gotten Capri Suns for my kids since I read about and saw the picture of the mold that was found in one that was cut open. http://www.snopes.com/food/warnings/caprisun.asp Because there are no preservatives, if there is even a tiny hole in the pouch then you can have a mold problem in the drink. Or if they are old so you have to check the date on the box. It's sad because I grew up having Capri Suns. 9 times out of 10 you probably would not have this mold problem with the Capri Suns you get, but it's not worth it to me. They need to make the pouches clear at least on the bottom so you can at least check and make sure there's no mold in the drink before giving it to your kids.
Like Adrienne I fear the mold. I just saw on FB another person post a pic of a moldy pouch AFTER their child had already had some swigs. YUCK. I have been gambling it with my kids hoping we didn't get any moldy pouches, but now no way. I found a clear bottle juice for school lunches. I prefer they drink water when we are on the go and when at home. I hate commenting negative, so will end with your boys are the cutest!!! I love the routine of back to school!
Yikes, MOLD!!!!!! We absolutely live Capri As well but not anymore that's horrifying. Thanks for sharing. Cute story Larissa you have a such a beautiful way of writing. It's the small things kids remember and cherish the most for sure. It could be as simple as a summer drink :)
I totally hear your concerns! Just like any company that has had a manufacturing issue, I know they have addressed that issue and have even have answered about those fears on their FAQ section of their website (there is a link in this post).
While I had some concern in the when the mold situation first came up, I have never had a problem and I have full trust in Capri Sun and will continue to let's kiddos drink from them.
However, every parent has the right to form am opinion and do what they feel is best. I do suggest however researching with the company instead if just relying media coverage, since we all know that can be sensationalized. Even our lovely FB is not always accurate.
I am so glad you all feel comfortable sharing your feelings and that you did so in a positive way. I knew this post would bring some controversy, but I will stand by the fact that this is a review of a product we do use on a regular basis and one that we are comfortable using at that.

[Image] Summer is practically over. Boats are making their last runs. Tents and roasting sticks are being put away. Cars have been cleaned out from just-ended road trips. Trips to the swimming pool are being crammed in before they all close up for the season.
For some of you school is already in, for us it is quickly approaching.
Hubby just wrapped up his summer time off with our little family. The last of our summer house guests have left. Our unscheduled, easy, breezy time in the sun (okay and occasionally inside in the air conditioned house watching a movie) is wrapping up.
School starts pretty quickly and then we will be on the go, living out of the good ole' mini van, known from here on out as The Mini, from sun up until sun down. Unscheduled will go to scheduled. Day in and day out all-around merriment will be reserved for the weekends when there is slightly less going on.
With summer ending, it is now time to make the most of The Weekend.
We love the weekends around our house, by Jove. We really rather enjoy just going and doing stuff with our little family.
You know what you can almost always find in the back of The Mini?
