[Image]Nominated MP John Mbadi has claimed that the probe into the alleged extrajudicial killings has a predetermined objective to zero in on ex-top security bosses. AdChoicesADVERTISING The ODM chairman alleged that President William Ruto is keen on having ex-Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i arrested and charged.According to Mbadi, the probe on the disbanded Special Services Unit of the DCI is part of of a plan to also prosecute ex-DCI boss George Kinoti.Matiang'i and Kinoti are perceived to have been the face of the 'deep state' that Ruto repeatedly claimed was furiously hell-bent on blocking his ascension to the presidency.“The target is Kinoti and Matiang'i...we know it and we hear it from them,” Mbadi said in Homa Bay on Friday.“These guys did their job, let them go and rest.”President Ruto announced that Kinoti had resigned as DCI director but the National Police Service Commission later said it had accepted his transfer of service to the Public Service Commission.Mbadi said the approach by Ruto's administration to go after former security bosses would demoralise officers from working for government."People will be scared to work for government, tomorrow Ruto will be out, we don't want to victimise his officers," Mbadi said. The MP warned that the criminal justice system in Kenya was collapsing with targeted victimisation.“We can't have a government in place and then the next day they start victisimising former officers,” Mbadi said.“Let him(Ruto) not victimise Kinoti...let him not victimise Matiang'i.”The SSU officers under investigation are said to have led a killer squad that abducted, tortured and murdered tens of Kenyans and some foreigners.
