[Image]Police in Kiambu are burning the midnight oil investigating the shocking death of a pastor who was killed a day before his wedding.According to Kiambu police commander Perminus Muchangi, the deceased identified as Fred Gitau, 30, an online taxi driver is said to have been dropped home by the best couple prior to his unexpected demise. His family launched a search for him on Saturday after he was a no-show at his wedding. Several attempts to reach him on the phone went futile after he was unreachable.Following the turn of events, they headed to his house to check on him.Upon arrival at his house, the family of the deceased called the police who accessed his house. At the time, the house had been locked and the keys had been abandoned at his mother's balcony. The police through assistance from a young boy, unlocked the house and found the deceased lying dead with foam in his mouth. The officers also recovered his car which had his new wedding shirts. The car was still in his parking lot. While it remains unclear what transpired, Mwangi Muthiora, a communication strategist who first reported the incident noted that the deceased had informed him that his life was in danger.A family member who spoke to a local publication also confirmed the report. The family has expressed shock and agony and called for speedy investigations into the matter."He was a healthy man. He did not smoke and he exercised regularly. That is why we can’t accept his death just like that. I will never forget him. His loss is huge," a relative said.Police have since handed over the case to DCI detectives to investigate.“The DCI detectives have taken over the matter. We call for patience as we await the outcome of the investigations,” Muchangi said. BY K24 NEWS
