Helpful stuff there, as always. Soon you'll have to expand the comparison with the new Vendels. :) Saw them at Crisis and they looked stunning. Maybe a bit on the small side though.

I tell you, the chance to start collecting an army from square one was very tempting. And yet... I didn't...

Hi Doc, I'm posting the Vendels today! :-)

They are a tad on the small side for me, but beautifully formed. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the cataphracts.

A Parthian army is a big commitment; lots of painting, and somewhat specialised. I really want one, some day, though!

Simon:

I wish you well on your proposed Successor project. You already will have great opponents with your Romans and Carthaginians - Pyrrhus fought them both. And of course, there's the Battle of Magnesia - perfect for the cavalry you're spotlighting right now. I plan to add some of those newly released pachyderms - maybe some Gauls too - to my existing Macedonian/Successor Army. Luckily, my fellow gamers already have huge Republican Roman and Carthaginian armies. Regards, Dean

Hi Dean, Magnesia is one I'd love to fight, but I'm a very long way off having enough minis!

Most of my Romans are later than the Punic Wars, and my Hellenistic armies are still on the small side. But Successors will be my theme for 2010...
