These pictures are from our last major battle, set in North Africa around 46BC, between two Roman armies, one Caesarean and the other Pompeian including a huge Numidian allied contingent including no less than 8 elephants. Most of our battles tend to be very close but on this occasion, as at Thapsus, things went very pearshaped for the Pompeians from the outset.
