Indeed, Gordes is one of the finest places to holiday. Been there twice, and it's been great. Thanks for reminding me. :-)
Other than that, being in possession of a (smallish) Pyrrhic army myself, I'm really looking forward to your presentation. Hopefully you're going to do a full-scale coverage here as well.
Indeed, Richard! I've wanted to see Partizan for a while, and one of my collaborators has got us a table. Plus it is less far for some of the other people who will be involved. Perhaps we could meet up?

Very good photo Simon and the place looks great.
Looking forward to seeing you at Partizan with your layout.
Hi Paul, yes will be great to see you. I am working on something (rather different) for Salute, too, with mom Ami Greg...

Look forward to seeing that Simon and with Fran and Ray and a few of their mates helping at Salute, I should get a chance for a wander around the show.
Thanks Paul, it was very hot in Provence! It hit 40 Celcius, one day.

[Image]Just come back from a lovely break in a Provencal village, called Gordes. The view from our villa was lovely, and I include it because it struck me that it looks rather like the terrain I'd like to put together for our Partizan/Asculum game next year. I'm thinking that most of the terrain will be a flat plain (possibly a painted cloth), covered in fields with some olive orchards and vineyards. The table will be 5' deep and 20' wide. Wooded hills, like the one of the right of frame, will rise from the plains. The trees will mostly be scrub oak, pine and cypress. If time permits, I'll do some hills as backdrops on the baselines. Sorry the photo isn't very high definition.
Of course, if anyone has photos of the actual region in Italy, I'd be really interested to see them...
In other news, I'm going to temporarily suspend my Napoleonic efforts in order to finish and base 3 units of Principiate Romans that Dr. Simon's mate has painted for me; they don't need much work and should look very nice when completed. I also still have some lovely Marian Roman figures from Andres, to base...

Hi SG, Gordes is lovely, I wish we'd had 2 weeks their rather than one.
It is safe to say that our coverage of Asculum will be nothing short of excessive. :-)

Also not having a sprained ankle will help.
