Great vignette - but also poignant. The elephant looks like its sleeping...

Aww, he's a little baby elephant having a little sleep.

I love the ying and yang idea. I need some casualty figures to act as markers for those WAB units i've multi-based (if that's the term) for book keeping reasons.

I wish I had a need for a dead nellie..

Everyone needs a dead nellie, Consul!

Is that a hint? ;)

I did actually order an elephant from 1st Corps on an impulse when I ordered my horse archers for use with my Macedonian/Successor army but it's got a Howdah so it may not fit. Plus it's an Indian elephant too.

Any paint recommendations for elephant colours?

I’ve mixed brown and grey, and washed with dark brown. It’s worth having a good look at nellies on the internet… colours can vary by species, and according to how dusty they are (and what colour the dust is).

OK. I'll bare that in mind. The Roman army is starting to move along now so when I'm back at Easter i'll be making a start on my elephant and Macedonians!
