Hi Pat, it's hard to believe that after 6 month's painting, I still have less than 1% of the number of pike men that Ptolemy had! The number of men at at that battle is hard to conceive, what must it have looked like...
I suppose that, if I was spared, another 49 years of painting at the rate of the last 6 months would give me Ptolemy's entire army at 1:1... but the gaming table would need to be around 75 metres wide.

These minis have been lent to me by Dr. Simon, and I'm using them, along with the 40 minis lent me by Wabby George, to close my "pike gap". Totting up on my fingers, I reckon that, once I've finished painting a final half dozen minis, I may even have more pike than I need!

Just a word - you can never - I repeat NEVER - have enough pikes!

They may not be yours but they do look spectacular. Painting lots of white like this can be difficult, but when done right it really stands out.

Too many pikes? Said with sarissa firmly in cheek, I'm sure ;-)
Great job again on this project, Simon; something about plans coming together...

Yes it is all coming together, which is just as well as I only have 2 weeks to go...
An idea is also forming of what I might do next, with the pikes...

An eye catching unit. It is hard to believe with your huge collection that you need to borrow extra pike.
Cheers,
Pat.

No reason to stop any time soon then is there? ;-)

A stretch goal! ;-)

75 foot wide table? And that's all that's stopping you? :p
You can never have too many pike in my opinion :)
