My wife uses Tracfone LG500G, and it's OK for basics but the keys are too small for her when texting. Would the Samsung 425G be better? It appears the keys on the slider keyboard are a bit bigger than the 500G. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Samsung s425 is a nice phone, and while it does still have a full qwerty keyboard, the keys are a little bigger. So it might be a good choice. You could also consider the LG 840G, if your wife is comfortable with a touchscreen.

Do you have any recommendations for a CDMA phone? My 82 year old mother would like to learn to send text messages. I'm looking for a phone that will work with her hearing aid and that she can send texts with. We need a phone on the Verizon network since she uses it when visiting family in rural towns in the west. By the way, I'm glad I found your blog. I love the "best" lists that you post!

Thanks!
Ann

You might want to look into the Samsung S380C, unless the keys are too small. It is easy to text with because there is a key for every letter.

My wife & I have decided her next phone should be a Tracfone as she is using her phone much less than in the past. We are also looking for simplicity and ease of use due to arthritis. Which phone would be serve the purpose? She does very little texting.

One problem with the QWERTY phones are that the keys are mechanical, and as such, they are prone to jam eventually. I have a LG500G and my E key is a bit jammed, making it harder to text. Same thing happened to my Motorola before that. Very annoying. I think I'll be trying a touchscreen this time.

Do any of the Tracfone Android phones allow you to text more than 160 characters at a time without splitting the texts? Or are there apps to download that can do it?

What's the best Tracfone with these features?
- Full qwerty keyboard
- Full conversation view text messaging
- 3.5mm headset jack for calls
- Safelink compatible
