They always work ... you just have to be patient. I buy online cards the normal way and type in a promo code. The next screen will tell you if it's an error. Just back up and try another one. As other posters have commented I too cancel the whole thing and go back to start if 2 fail in a row. But seriously these last few months one of the first 2 have always worked. It's usually the lowest minutes (but hey it's still 40 free minutes!).

I think you can add the year time to it, but it comes with minutes and costs @ $100. I did a break down.

Offer Expires April 29th, 2014 for the extra 250 minute bonus on a year card purchase.
1 Year
400 minutes
(250 bonus minutes when you use the code 90518)

The cost is $99.99, which means it's costing you about 27 cents a day.

Since you use it for emergencies you might want to consider getting 4 of the 60 minute cards.

60 Minute cards have 90 service days for $19.99

If you just want the time more than the minutes this is how it falls out cost wise.

Cost Minutes Service Days
$19.99 60 90
$99.99 400+ 365

90 (days) * 4 (cards) =360 days
$19.99*4 = $79.96

If you divide that out it is only .21906 - which is about 22 cents a day.

So my advice is just keep adding 60 minute cards, the cost averages out cheaper.

22 cents a day when you buy 4 of the 60 minute cards

today, wanted to add 450 minutes which doubles on my phone and also wanted a promo code that would add the most extra bonus minutes available. I tried the following codes which were not valid for my phone or expired: 72505, 93729 (I know this is for the airtime that adds 1 year but tried it anyway), 90518, 66393, 35025, 30559, 66271, 63257, 93528, 32102. I got an error page on a couple of the last codes so don't know if the codes were good or bad but they didn't take me to the checkout page. I cleared my browser cache and found some Tracfone deals here http://www.tracfone.com/specialoffers/index.jsp and found 50 bonus minutes on 450 minutes with code 63257. They also offered 250 bonus minutes on a 1 year 400 minutes with code 93729. For 40 bonus minutes on 200, use code 72524 and 30 bonus minutes on 129 with code 69665. These last few offers are good until May 31, 2014.

Not really. For $19.99, you can add 90 service days but it adds 60 minutes which is not too much. This is the least option available that has a better value than just 30 service days at $9.99. The least amount for an additional year of service days (365) is $99.99 but it adds 400 minutes. It is cheaper at $81.07 (4 times $19.99) to buy four quanities of 90 service days to get a year's worth of service days but adds only 240 minutes. That's what I would do if I wanted to add more time but not so many extra minutes.
I also use my phone mainly for emergencies but have been using it more to get better use of my money and I have the opposite problem. I have lots of service days but need more minutes. Fortunately I purchased a double minute plan a long time ago so minutes are doubled and I look for bonus codes to add extra minutes. Hope this helps!

Current TF policy, which has been in force for at least 1 yr 9 months, is to not allow bonus unit on smart phones, including Androids. Instead, for your 60 unit card, you get 60 units for voice, 60 for text, and 60 for data -- each tripled. So each category of use has 180 units. There should be a section in your TF Android user booklet that tells how that works -- and how your usage is charged against your units. Well worth a few minutes to read. You should also be able to get this info online at TracFone.com, in the "Getting started". The manual for the phone is online, along with tutorials for the specific phone. An improvement over earlier years!

Maybe the feature on that site just wasn't working on that day. It worked in Sept. for me and now it's Oct. and I just tried the same code I used in Sept. I know it's working, because in Sep .15 I tried a code that did not work that was supposed to add a huge amount of free time; it had expired. I was able to use another code that added 60 min. Promo codes for a 1 year/ 400 minute card will not work on a 450 minute card. So don't get your hopes up with a bunch of bonus minutes with a 450 minute card. You will probably only be able to get a maximum of 60 bonus minutes with the purchase of a 450 minute card. This website should reorder these two cards so that people don't get disappointed trying to get 250 or even 300 extra minutes. Also note that the promo code 99619 to get 365 service days with a 120 minute card only works with the 120 minute card. I ended up using the promo code 79679 for my 450 minute card and I can confirm that it gave me 60 minutes on October 5th.

Tried 99619 for the 120 minute card for the LG236C phone (flip phone). It does not work to add 365 days of service time.

Tried the code to add 140 extra minutes (forgot what it was) but that worked so I have 260 minutes with the 120 day card. BUT, I have a double minutes for life phone so it should have given me 120 x 2 = 240 + 140 = 380. But it didn't :(

So, just to let you know, DON'T use code that says you will get an extra 140 minutes if you have a double minutes phone, basically you are shorting yourself 10-40 minutes when you could have used a different code to get 30 bonus minutes or 60 bonus minutes.

I am going to send a message to TRACFONE to see if I can get my extra minutes.

FYI on the Tracfone website, you can sign up for a 30 day extension for $5.99 if you still have a lot of minutes but the service date is up. It only bills you IF you need to use it. It saves you from having your phone deactivated.

I bought 60 minutes on the web, supersized adding another 30 minutess for $5 bringing my total to just under $26. I have a tripple minute phone. If you use a promo code on the Trackfone web site and it does not work or you forgot to enter the code, don't worry, Tracfone chat will make it right. Just give them the code and they will add the promo minutes. Should be done on the same day you bought the minutes.

1/7/2016 Just used 79679 code for 60 bonus minutes with a 450 minute card on a very old Nokia Tracfone and it worked!! I have had a double minutes on this phone for years but the bonus minutes did not double. I'll take any bonus minutes I can get!! Thanks!!!

Today is Jan 9, 2016. Like some of the other commenters I have been using your promo codes now for several years, and while sometimes a 60 minute code will be expired there is -always- something that works.

Personally, I find that a 120 minute card (X triple minutes) and a 30 or greater promo code works out the cheapest.

There was an earlier comment about a promo code for an android purchase that did not work for an additional phone, readers should be aware that many of these codes are only good for one use per account. So if you have 3 phones a promo code will probably only work for the first phone. If the code is still valid and you try to use it again on the same phone it usually does not work a second time either. Fortunately there are enough other codes here where it is not a problem unless it is one of the big bargain codes. Also please note that other than the purchase one, far as I know android phones do not accept promo codes in addition to the 3 "buckets" you get where calls, texts, and data are separate. (this is why I am planning on using my Samsung S390 for a while longer).

I do have a question for the people who run this site though- Is there a way you get credit from tracfone if I make a purchase? Do you have a direct link, or does it not really matter to you guys? As I mentioned I have used your site for a few years now and not only would I like to help you back in return but want to make sure you are around for a long while, LOL!

Code 12745 for 60 bonus minutes worked on my tripe-minutes-for-life phone with a 60 minutes/90 day refill card. Rec'd a total of 240 minutes. Has worked every time for me since I found you guys last year. I'm retired and don't typically use a lot of minutes (still have a land line because of lousy cell coverage at my home regardless of carrier/network) so this is a very economical way for me to still have a cell phone for when I'm away from the house. I have a tripple minute phone.

Buying a 1 year card ($99.99) with 400 minutes plus 300 minute promo code will give me 1500 minutes @ .066 cents per minute.

Buying four 60 minute cards ($79.96) with the 30 minute promo code gives me 360 days, 840 minutes @.095 cents per minute.

There is a $15 discount promo code for the 1 year/400 minute card, tripple minutes gives 1200 minutes @ .075 cents per minute.

I purchase TracFone minutes for my wife, my daughter, and myself. When my daughter was graduating from college and looking for employment she was running out of minutes so we got her a new, triple minutes TracFone. That, along with the bonus minutes from promo codes found here, keep her in business. Thanks much!

I find that purchasing 90 days at a time, with triple and bonus minutes, is cheaper than buying one year at a time for the amount of minutes we use.

12745 has worked every time on three phones for several months now, giving us an extra hour of talk time on the 60 minute card (240 minutes total). Thanks much!

Just a quickie update -today is May 19th 2016 and the 99619 code is NOT working any longer. I also couldn't get the 58478 to work for my LG. I had better luck with 12745 and it bumped my 120mins to 420mins. Which makes no sense to me. It just sorta gifted me an extra 300mins. I'm very grateful and wanted to pass on the good news on 12745

got 4 x 60min/90 day cards on Android; that turned into 360 days with 720 mins/720 text msgs/720MB data...TF would not accept promo codes on Android - HOWEVER there was a 'would you like to add a one-year card for $49.99?' Heck, YES! so I have two years for 129.99 - 17.9 cents a day - I only use it for emergencies/rare travel/on wifi, so I am extremely satisfied!!
