I am no fan of skinheads, believe me. But, "vicious and prolonged" -- where were the guards, or was this sadism for their benefit. What is going on at the Remand Centre?

It's pretty much common knowledge who the victim was in this case, however we won't publish that name here. Neither will we allow comments that state who the individual is. As vile as the ideology espoused by the victim is, there is no justification for rape. It's not funny. It's not karma. It's not, "poetic justice." It's a reprehensible crime for which the perpetrators should rot.

Monday, December 03, 2012 04:37 PM MST Two ethnic Calgary Remand Centre inmates were handed lengthy prison
terms Monday for the gang-rape of their wannabe white-supremacist cell
mate.
Provincial court Judge Jim Ogle handed Ali Sanghar a 5 1/2-year
sentence and Samar Sigar a 6 1/2-year term for their roles in the May
30, 2010 attack at the jail.
Ogle noted the two men raped a slightly-built, first-time resident at
the jail who was a white-supremacist sympathizer at the time who was
inexplicably placed on the multi-racial gang unit.
“For reasons that still escape the court, the victim was placed in
the ‘gang unit’ ... a grouping of cells that contained inmates of
various race, colour and allegiance,” he said in a written ruling.
At the time the 20-year-old, who had earlier been denied bail on a
relatively minor offence, was sporting a Nazi SS symbol carved into his
hair.
Because of the symbol — which he quickly had shaved from his head —
the man received several threats from other inmates, which included
suggestions Sanghar and Sigar harm him.
In the middle of the night, Sigar awoke the victim by placing a towel
over his head, held a sharp object to the man’s neck and threatened to
murder or rape him before sexually assaulting him.
Sanghar then awoke and did the same as Sigar held the victim’s arms.
Ogle said there were multiple aggravating circumstances which called for serious sentences for both offenders.
“The victim here was especially vulnerable, and it is an inescapable
conclusion from the evidence that both accused knew that,” he said.
“(The victim) was subjected to unprotected (sex) by first one accuse,
then the other, increasing the risk and worry of disease resulting from
the attack,” Ogle said.
“This was a ‘gang rape,’ a sexual assault by more than one person,
where each accused was both a principle and a party to the sexual
assault committed by his co-accused.”
The judge said the attack was made worse by the fact the victim was confined in a jail cell at the time.
“This was a violent, brutal, sadistic and prolonged sexual assault by
two individuals on a vulnerable, young victim who had no realistic
means of escape,” Ogle concluded.
He said Sigar, who was convicted of the more serious offence of
sexual assault with a weapon, would have received an even harsher
sentence if it weren’t for the fact he was only 18 at the time.
