You know what? You are so right. It works with kids too. When I am having a bad day with a class, I force myself to smile at them and crack a joke here and there. It takes them aback and makes all of us think for a minute.
Whoopee pies...mmm...going to make some sugar-free ones ASAP. :)

OH MY GOSH! I love that Star Trek movie! I'm forever looking at my husband and mocking Kirk by saying KKKHHHHAAANNNN! KKKHHHAAANNNN! while shaking my head...

I love that you mimic it too, I guess I'm not as big of a dork as my husband thinks I am!

My first thought was...Star Trek?...Tribbles? LOL

I completely hear you on this post. I had this exact same conversation with myself just yesterday. I came to this analogy which works for me...Every once in a while, you just need to look past those ugly weeds that are right under your nose to see the beauty that surrounds us. :)

And now I want a whoopee pie. It's all your fault! So just when is there going to be a house next door to you that's ready for me to move in? ;)

It's SO true! It's good to get a reminder like this now and then, thank YOU for reminding me, Pam.

I had a little situation just today that really got to me and it would have been so easy to be nasty and hateful. Instead I reminded myself that "grace under fire" means (for me) to zip my lips and not respond until I've had a moment too think beyond the next 5 seconds. Being mean back to someone (even someone who's begging for it) doesn't feel good later on. It leaves a greasy stain on my heart. That's no bueno...

Have a great evening :o)
