I'm super clumsy. I trip and bump into objects all the time, but i never let go of objects or anything.

I might not be very synchrone, but ithink, that this is mostly due to my "head in the clouds" personality.

It was very interesting to read :)

Very well written article. Just yesterday, my 85 year old mother-in-law fell over after thinking she could walk outside without it. She bumped her head and bruised the whole left side of her face. She can be ver headstrong but is also quite lucid. I started thinking about the the language she uses to describe herself, and "clumsy" comes up often. But I realized that clumsy doesn't quite help explain the mechanics of how she fell. Your article is spot on.

Her issues seems to be lack of ability to pay attention to the physical world around her so that she can make judgement calls and adjust her physical mechanics to accomate accordingly. I believe this is "faulty representation". She is not knowledge gathering, projecting, and calculating what is required physically. Yet, in normal conversations(which are not about such mundane events as walking out the door) she is witty, lucid, focused, and very well reasoned.

I know there are more issues going on here, but trying to break them down into manageable piece parts.

This is all to say, do you know if there any training or education available to help folks solve the faulty representation issues specifically? Or any of the others?

Reason I ask is it seems like, at 85 years old, she is easily distracted be thoughts and her focus is not enough on the present physicsl environmental assessments. And, she tells herself she's "just clumsy".

Thanks again for the article.
