As with all these income based comparisons, they are meaningless without considering purchasing power parity. What d you get for 18k a year in the places labelled as low social mobility? Lots more than you get in the ones labelled high. Housing costs are a poor index of this, but a big expense, so that helps. And the map is the reverse of this one.

Haven't wrapped my mind around just how income and wealth disparity, TRUMP, Kavanaugh, Prep Schools, Republican Tax Cuts, Dynastic Wealth, and the Decline of America are all tied together, but some little voice is telling me that they are.
