I discovered Rawls only recently, but I noticed on first reading that Rawls's idea of property rights was limited to basic personal property, thus signaling his acceptance of democratic socialism as well as capitalism with redistribution.

Funny how our understanding is molded by our preconceptions and predispositions.

Wilkinson's argument on Rawls' radicalism seems mostly reliant on your own prior post on property-owning democracy, so it seems odd for you to cite him!

TGGP -- there's a lot more to Wilkinson's argument than my post; the primary basis in his argument is the reasoning offered by Sam Freeman about Rawls's definition of the liberty principle, which I also reference in this current post.
