My son is finding this out at the high school level(his first year in school ever, as you know!).

The majority of the kids have no *understanding* of any of the material, nor do they want to. They memorize enough for the test and are done with it.

happy day!

Indeed! The system merely teaches kids to regurgitate rote information on cue. Those who conform to this are "smart" and those who won't conform are "learning disabled" or worse "bad kids".

On a side note, Gina... eventually you will get to a point, like I did, that biting your tongue will bring you little more than blood in your own mouth. Don't betray your beliefs to satisfy insecure feelings. Nothing ever got accomplished by great men being quiet.

Besides, I gotcha back, and now you know most of us out there feel the same way anyway. It's time we made some noise.

Hi - Thanks for wanting to share your ideas & comments! I love hearing what others have to say, but just so that everyone is aware, I have the right and option to decide to post a comment or not. Foul language, inappropriate comments, lashing out at the world, or posting irrelevant ad links are a few reasons why posts may be rejected. My daughter & her friends like to frequently see what is being posted so therefore I would like to keep it clean.
I also have a tendency to reject "Anonymous" posts as I feel the content is not verifiable, therefore is often either irrelevant or not viable.
If your comment has been accepted - it will generally appear in less than 24 hours! Thanks Gina
