Justin and Holly's wedding was nothing short of creative and unique...exactly like their personalities. When I first met with them for our initial consultation, Holly told me she was hoping to secure the Great American Melodrama in Oceano for their reception. They were both hoping for the non-traditional feel for the celebration and a time to laugh with all their guests. Instantly I was drawn to the idea and loved it!...and I have to admit that I didn't know what to expect.
Upon seeing Holly I smiled with joy because she was a BEAUTIFUL bride who made my job easy (feathers and veils are a perfect combination). Her sense of humor, as well as her bridesmaids Carrie, had me laughing behind the lens and thrilled to be a part of the day. Their ceremony at Camp San Luis was intimate and full of warmth as the sun beamed through the tall windows in the chapel. After a few pictures, we packed into the cars and headed to the Melodrama...it was amazing! One whole side of the building was a huge mural full of hilarious artwork with vibrant colors. Inside, we grabbed a few shots of them on the stage before the guests arrived. There was something striking and humorous about seeing a couple on a set for lumberjacks.
The Melodrama was exactly what I imaged - incredible! Guests were greeted by Justin and Holly as they walked in and everyone was given "melo-bucks" to use on snacks and drinks to enjoy during the show. The show was titled "Lumberjacks In Love"...fitting...and the actors provided a stellar performance that entertained everyone in the room. Yes, I will be going back to the melodrama and yes, I will ALWAYS remember this amazing wedding. Thank you for the privilege, Justin and Holly!!!
