I hate
goodbyes
.
JCS
is closed now, as of
Saturday night
. Usually the end of a run doesn't really
phase me
all that much - it
happens a little too often
. But... do you know what I did after our closing night cabaret? When I couldn't take another "
so long
" or "
see ya soon
" or "
take care of yourself
" because I got all unexpectedly emotional at the ending of this,
a production I really loved
? I hid in the dressing room until the coast was clear to leave.
A few people found me out
, and did the whole
solongfarewellaufwiedersehengoodbye thing
. Mainly I avoided
public tearing up
. Because I'm
an American man
in the
Rumsfeld
era, damn it! If we start crying in public,
the terrorists will have won
!
To the cast, crew, and company of
JCS
: Thank you for
a wonderful experience
.
Now I'm on the road slowly making my way
South to Florida
. In
Richmond, VA
for a few days visiting
friends
.
I wasn't kidding about the
writing to the management
I mentioned in the previous entry.
You can still do that. I'll bake you cookies, cookies enriched with love. That's a figure of speech, by the way.
They're perfectly good cookies.
