WHERE TO STAY:
Lisbon offers many beautiful options for your stay; but apparently mid-October is a popular time to visit Lisbon therefore couple of options we checked were already fully booked. I loved the muted minimalism of Santa Clarahttp://santaclara1728.com/ and Casa C’Alma, Principe Real http://acasacalma.com/casa-calma/ was another option on our radar; the boutique guest house with 5 rooms.
Finally, we made our decision to stay at Baixa Househttp://www.baixahouse.com/en/ which I can describe as a 'home away from home'. Located on the bustling and historic street in Baxia, this 18th century building is made up of 13 airy flats with eclectic vintage furniture to complete its homey look. Every morning they leave fresh bread in a linen bag at your door and restock the fridge with cheese, fruit, yogurt and cake for breakfast. The staff is extremely helpful and when you step out the apartment you will find yourself on the route of infamous Tram 28.

WHERE TO EAT:
After leaving our luggage at Baixa House we headed straight to A Cevicheria http://www.acevicheria.pt/ by Chef Kiko which has become one of Lisbon’s landmarks lately. The menu mainly offers raw fish but there are couple of cooked options as well. They don’t take reservations so there is always a line outside the door where you can enjoy a drink.

Probably the most famous restaurant in Lisbon is Cervejaria Ramiro http://www.cervejariaramiro.pt/ which serves shellfish for more than 50 years at the same location. Very old school atmosphere and the staff is extremely positive and welcoming; again no reservations and min 45 min wait is normal.

Timeout Market of Lisbonhttps://www.timeout.com/market/ opened in 2014 and in 2016 it received 3.1 million visitors and has since become the number one tourist attraction. You will find any and all kinds of food including the Portuguese cuisine favourites. Reminded me of Mercado de San Miguel Madrid and Ostermalms Saluhall in Stockholm.

Jose Avillez considered as one of the references in Portuguese cuisine and opened up several restaurants in Lisbon including the only two Michelin starred restaurant in Portugal; Belcanto. Pizzaria Lisboa, Cantinho do Avillez and Bairro do Avillez are the ones that are highly recommended and we enjoyed the yummy pizzas of Pizzaria Lisboa.

Everyday Pasteis de Belem bakes 20,000 Pasteis de Nata (the super famous custard tart) with the same recipe since 1837! The pastry dough is as thin & crunchy as baklava and the custard is the lightest I ever had and melts in your mouth. Make sure to visit and taste one (or two!).

WHERE TO GO:
LX Factory http://www.lxfactory.com/EN/welcome/ which can be described as an open air industrial space for food, art and music lovers attracting numerous visitors reminded me of the Freetown Christiania in Copenhagen, Berlin Flee Market and Bomontiada in Istanbul. Good to spend some time on a lovely weather day.

A Vida Portuguesahttp://www.avidaportuguesa.com/index.ph is one of the nicest concept stores I have ever been to; similar to Conran Shop in London. They put together finest Portuguese products and designs. “Throughout the past few years we have searched, from the north to the south of the country, for products created and fabricated in Portugal. Products that have been handed down through generations and still touch our hearts today.”
