Hi, Ive been researching living in Egypt and came across your blog. I was wondering if you can be of help. My husbands family is from Alexandria and we are interested in him finding a US job to live there temporarily. Do you know of ways to find these jobs? Also any tips for easier moves as far as shipping my belongings like furniture clothing food etc. if I should ship, leave in storage or sell. Anything will be of help. I've been there several times and love it there and Love his family so it will be a little easier for me and the children because of that.

Hi,
Jobs are more difficult to find in Alex than in Cairo because of opportunities. If he wants a US job, then its better he searches for it when he is in the US rather than going there and starting a job hunt. Plus with recent events, a lot of local companies are not doing too well - sectors like advertising etc are actually letting people go because there isn't enough work.

Leave me your email and I will put you in touch with people who may be able to help better and I will answer your questions on email because there are somethings about shipping and customs that I would rather not talk about on my blog :)

I think that's a great scheme of recycling waste. More opportunity for the people in Cairo, and the more chances to save the environment.

There is a spreadsheet link in the main post. You need to click on that link and fill in your details and the NGO will contact you when there is a pick up in your part of town.
