I work in libraryland and many of the more technology-minded librarians are all gabbing about the promise of Web 2.0 and rightly so as it is all very exciting stuff.

But what I'm foolishly pining for is for governments to make their information available for mash-ups by the people. The raw material is out there but its just all over the place. When I see sites like They Work For You and Pollution Watch it makes me wish I had mad hacking skillz.
