Can you also do the same analysis of the Grienke trade? My guess is the Royals benefited greatly from that trade. Is it possible that trades in this manor are always one-sided?

Jarrod Dyson has been my favorite Royal for maybe three seasons now. I love me some Salvador Perez and Yordano Ventura, but Dyson is, I think, essentially a healthy Peter Bourjos, and he is completely unappreciated, or at least it feels to me that he is under appreciated, as someone watching the Royals from Minnesota. Combine a productive player who adds value with baserunning and plus defense at an up-the-middle position and you have my 1980s-era baseball mind all aflutter.

I just read the the Royals have picked up Jason Frasor from the Rangers. The price was cheap, 26 yo minor league reliever, but I don't see a lot of upside.

I don't think they were looking for upside. I think they were looking for reliable production in the middle innings, and Frasor can provide that.

Rany, can you talk about the acquisitions of Ibanez and Downs? I really feel that they are hurting the team more than helping. I know there is not much internally that we can replace them with but I'd much rather have either Colon/Gia instead of Ibanez filling up our bench, and Collins (despite his struggles) than Downs in our bullpen.
