Great in-depth analysis.

Got a smile from this:

And as an added bonus, having Dyson in the starting lineup means he can’t pinch-run in the ninth and then feel like he has to “do something”.

Cheers!

Love the frequent updates. It will be sad to see the Royals blog go -- I really have been following for a while as a long time fan. But it will be nice to go out with a bang. Went to college in SF in the late eighties, so naturally, became a Giants fan as the Royals were descending. Last Wednesday, I had the unique pleasure of toggling between the Royals/Tigers and Giants/Diamondbacks from ESPN 1 and 2. Both teams on national tv. Both in playoff races. I bet I'll never have that again on one night. I'll always keep an eye out for whatever you're working on.

The flip-side is that when Dyson comes to the plate in the 7th with a runner on base facing a lefty-killer, Ned can't hit for him (even if that thought would actually occur to him) because the only other competent outfielder is the DH.

Another great update. Enjoying the long forgotten cocktail of
heartache, angst, bewilderment and joy of being Royals fan in the hunt in September. Last year was a taste and this year will include a bender next weekend.

Would love to see everyone eat Crow on the TRADE. I have agreed with your initial response and insightful subsequent perspectives on this topic. Aaron / Yost seems hellbent on keeping that from happening.

Will miss the blog and your commentary back to the Rob and Rany days. Thanks for giving KC and the Royals a voice.
Go KC Shmabermetricians!

I wish someone would eat Aaron Crow. Why do you continue to do it Yost, WHY?
