"Until we are defeated. Or until we are delirious."

Not mutually exclusive.

Nice writeup!!! I especially enjoyed the last bit.

One question, and I'm sure I totally missed this being covered ad-infinitum elsewhere... but what is the short answer on why Nix is there instead of Colon anyway? I'm sure there must be some upside or some variable I didn't account for...? Thank you!

And nice stats on games 6-7. Let's add to them. WIN THESE #$&^$&#^$Q!&^$ GAMES!

I have marveled for two weeks now at the fact that Yost has been managing decently all postseason. Or at least hadn't been making moves that leave the rest of the world scratching their heads of throwing stuff at their TVs. The last two games felt like Yost was back. Nobody, but nobody can make sense of the Nix maneuver. Did Yost simply give up on the game and want to give everyone a chance to play? Who the hell knows? It's Ned Yost? I think the next two games (I hope) are going to be intense and difficult. I hope like crazy that Yost doesn't become a factor. If the Royals get outplayed, I'll learn to live with it. If they end up losing because Ned felt like Ibanez deserved a couple swings, or something even more ridiculous, I may never stop weeping and cussing.

Lyser,
I'm guessing nix is there because he can also play outfield.

Mark, fortunately Raul is not in the active roster. So we need not worry about that.

Eric Hosmer looks to Royals fans like a gold glove first baseman because we have endured the likes of Billy Butler, Mike Sweeney, and Ken Harvey over most of the prior decade over there.

Yost made puzzling decisions that did not at all cost us that game. Given that it was a lead pipe cinch that we was going to make puzzling decisions, that is the best we could have hoped for. And since he has shown growth game to game for the last three months, maybe the timing was even to our benefit.

Anyway, the World Series is going to be decided at Kaufmann Stadium.

Like Game 1, this just wasn't our night. Happily, the Royals are 2-1 in games not started by Madison Bumgarner.

More worrisome is the offense, which has been our Achilles' heel all year. Other than two at-bats versus Hunter Strickland (Salvy, Omar), it has been pretty quiet the entire series. If Gordon, Hosmer or Moose (pick any two) hit well we have an excellent chance. If not, not. But win or lose, what an amazing month this has been!

Mark Teixeira is still the best defensive first baseman. Billy has sure hands and no range. Hosmer is really good but not gold glove caliber.

I like the mood of this board. Let's keep it up. I understand the Yost questioning, but really, in my mind there's only one game the Royals "should" have won, and that's Game 4. We were clearly overmatched in games 1 and 5. In a way that's comforting. We've only "blown" one game, and honestly that's OK.
It's really lining up well for us. Ventura is by far the better pitcher tonight, and our pen is (pretty) rested. If he can get us to the 7th with a lead, I feel good about it. AND THE K WILL BE ROCKING. God, it still feels weird to type that.
