I do in fact wish Disco the best, and do not in fact hope this winds up being a mistake for the Royals. How both can happen is beyond me.

Rany,

I'll go ahead and tell you and any other Royals fans who come here what really happened with Disco Hayes.

We had to make a choice on who to keep on our Triple-A roster, and I couldn't decide, so I called up my old friend Steve Dahl, who some of you may know played a major role in a baseball game many years ago. I asked him about Hayes, and he responded...

DISCO SUCKS! DISCO SUCKS! DISCO SUCKS!

So I had to cut Hayes. Sorry to disappoint you.

Well, Dayton has traded Callaspo to the Angels for a couple of pitchers whose minor league stats aren't impressive. I'm sure they figure Betemit can hold down third until Moustakas is ready next year sometime. Betemit's hot streak "proved" that he deserves to start, I'm sure.

Shane Costa is still around!? Ken Harvey must be lurking somewhere as well.

Actually, Sean O'Sullivan, one of the guys the Royals just traded for, is considered a very good prospect. His numbers at Triple-A the last two seasons don't look good on the surface, but Salt Lake is an extreme hitters' park--any pitcher who keeps his ERA under 5 is a prospect.

He just beat the Yankees a few days ago, allowed just two hits over six innings. And he's not even 23 yet.

Maybe the deal works out and maybe it doesn't, but the Royals have much better players to replace Callaspo who are very close to the majors. They don't have many young pitchers who have the talent to beat the Yankees.

Aerobica- wasn't Ken Harvey playing for the T-Bones last season?

My top 10 Minor League Players
10. Gordon
9. Kila
8. Sample
7. Colon
6. Montgomery
5. Dwyer
4. Moose
3. Lamb
2. Hosmer
1. Myers

Worried about Montgomery. I think Gordon can still be a 270/370/550 guy. I am putting Colon there just b/c they took him so high. But notice you don't see Crow on my list.

I'm a little POed about Disco, pretty much for the reasons that Rany already mentioned. He basically never really got a shot because the Royals thought that a freaking FORTY year old pitcher offered more value?!? Dayton has done a lot for the minor leagues, but that is Nunez-for-Jacobs stupid if you ask me. Why in the HELL is there a forty year old on Omaha's roster?
