Excellent post. A facet of the organization I wouldn't often consider.

I remember your column in the past, and with this update about the new staff I can't help but be encouraged.

Thanks again Rany for your insightful columns about the Royals.

Rany, you deserve a piece of this award, if not a special thanks at the very least.

This is one area of concern for me going into 2012. Yes, we had a great deal of luck being relatively light on injuries in 2011. But will that continue in 2012? Or will there be regression, or a change in luck? What if Alex Gordon goes back to being injury prone? That's a pretty substantial bat missing from the lineup...

Abridged:

"I was a dick. The Royals were dicks. I'm sorry.

Our trainers are good now. You're welcome, America."

Rany, it almost sounded like you were taking credit for the Royals changing Training staffs. That of course is ridiculous.

I was critical of Kyle Davies pitching performances, then the Royals released him. I must have had something to do with it! I am great!

@McGoldencrown,

You haven't been paying attention apparently. Rany actually was one of the motivating factors behind the upheaval in the training staff. Believe me that fact has been documented ad infinitum. You need to read up on your Royals history.
And, how do you know that the Royals weren't listening specifically to you on the Davies decision?

Gaines, I remember the entire thing. Please produce for me the factual information linking Ranys diatribe on 810whb to action being taken place regarding the firing of Nick Schwartz.

I was in KC when it happened were you? All I remember was Rany getting banned from the clubhouse and denied access to Royals players. I hardly see that as proof that Rany had anything to do with the that decision.

Nick Schwartz was doing a terrible job. Assuming that Rany had something to do with his firing is arrogant and presumptuous. EVERYBODY could have made that prediction. Hence, the Davies analogy.

Except that the obviously-terrible record compiled by Swartz and Co. was allowed to roll for a total of 20 years. Makes the timing a bit...coincidental.

Hi Rany,

As far as I know Rany's precise essay on the Royals training procedures did indeed shake management up.

In business large customers often bump a company into doing something different.

Rany = big time customer in a sense.

Wouldn't doubt somebody from the Royals even GMDM even mentioned it to Rany on the sly.

Rany is an M.D. you know. I remember Rany getting involved with Afeldts blister problem.

Absalutely think this free gift of a blog is the best way to quickly bone up on the Royals.

Ok, I know it's Thanksgiving week and all, but no post and nothing from Rany on Twitter for almost a week?? Are we sure he's still alive?

Rany (or any reader),

Who do you see as the favorites for Royals SS, 3B, and outfield reserves in 2012?

I like the Broxton move. If he regains his former glory, the Royals will then have the option of moving either Soria or Crow into the rotation. That just strengthens us even more. If he doesn't, oh well, he was on a one year deal anyway.
