Alex must have taken your Sunday blog to heart. He didn't want to make you look bad and so he delivered in a most un-Royal like fashion. If the Royals do get to the playoffs by a game or two, this is one we will reflect on. In the end, it was a beautiful summer evening at the K.

I'm hoping that the Gordon walk-off is mostly forgotten; living on only as a middle chapter on our commemorative championship DVDs.

If Gordon's fly ball had been caught, I believe it would have only been the first out, so we wouldn't have lost.

There is NOTHING you need to apologize for writing. Not one damn thing.

I'm afraid that you're wrong about one thing, Rany.

Even if the Royals had the opportunity to draft Dylan Bundy, I'm sure they would have selected Bubba Starling anyway.

Actually, it was widely reported after the draft that the Royals had a pre-draft deal already in place with Bundy.

So does Bundy have any kind of successful career yet?

He has more than Bubba Starling, who has struggled mightily in A ball.

I looked up Bundy. He had Tommy John surgery a year ago. Just came back in minors and is on minor league DL again with something else. No career going there yet.

Thanks for a look behind the curtain. Who ever thinks about the training staff?

Tigers and Royals now tied, with 6 head to head match-ups left.

This could get exciting.

Cheers!

They still didn't have to end up with Bubba Starling. The next guy picked was Anthony Rendon. Wonder how much better the KC lineup would look if he was the everyday first baseman instead of Moustakas? George Springer, Jose Fernandez and Sonny Gray all went within the first 18 picks, too. Maybe that home run cost the Royals Bundy, but they screwed the pooch on their own.

I love the way Rany used to be here every day when the Royals sucked. Now that they are in first place he hardly ever shows up.

I remember where I was when Gordon hit his first walk off.

John, Moose is a third baseman, not first baseman. Jeesh.

Rany had a rather lengthy post long ago about how he was pulling back and how this would be his last season with the blog. He also stepped away from The Baseball Show podcast. If anything, I think he has stepped up his blogging a bit during the hot streak

Completely unrelated tidbit:

I heard on Effectively Wild that the next attempted steal against Ventura will be the first. Ever. I'm sire some of the credit for that needs to go to Perez, but still. . .
