Let's see: Quentin knew it was coming. Greinke's pitching motion/body language indicate it was entirely intentional. Greinke is more than ready to immediately begin spouting back at Quentin, and flings his glove down and starts stepping towards him in anticipation of the brawl he knew he started. What part of this makes you like or respect Greinke?

If you were at work, and you asked your coworker to toss a stapler to you, and he reared back and drilled you with it as hard as he could, should you just pick it up off the floor and resume stapling?

Yost has given zero innings to George Kottaras while trying to see if Salvador can play 162. He can do (almost) no worse thing, I think.

Unknown- There is nothing in Greinke's motion or initial body language that indicates any purpose. He says something to Quentin after he starts coming out, and throws his glove down when it is obvious Quentin is coming.

With the game situation, it was silly to even think Greinke hit Quentin on purpose. Quentin is a punk, and should be out for the duration of Greinke's injury.

Watch a normal Greinke pitch, then watch him hit Quentin. He doesn't even start to attempt to defend his position, because he's hitting him on purpose.

Anybody who calls "game situation" as a reason Greinke wouldn't have hit Quentin is wrong. In fact, that's a perfect time for Greinke to succeed in his little personal vendetta against Quentin -- who would suspect it otherwise? Quentin certainly knew it was coming, and was legitimately pissed.

Quentin has led the league the last two years in hbp. He basically stands on top of home plate. He asks to get hit every time he's up to bat. Then gets mad when he does get hit? He's definitely the punk here.

Riiiiight...the hothead pitcher who put his own personal vendetta over the needs of his team is admirable. But the guy who was creamed with a baseball is the bad guy..

Greinke is a pitcher known for having good control. If he really wanted to hit him, it wouldn't have been six pitches into the at bat. It would have been the first.

Ron Hunt HBP rate 3.95%
Carlos Quentin HBP rate 4.15%

When you are getting hit more than Ron Hunt - you should not complain that you are getting hit.
