You did a great service to the Royals by calling them out. Keep it up, more change is needed!

That Schwartz story was an April Fools Joke on Royals Review, perfectly executed down to the AP style.

As a guy who lives in Wichita and rarely if ever listens to 810 sports, I feel you DEFINITELY need to keep us updated on when Rany on the Radio starts airing again, and what the easiest way to get the podcast is.

It's nice to read an affirming article from you, Rany. I appreciate you calling the Royals out, as Seth put it, but I also appreciate you passing along the kudos when they deserve it.

I have to say that there seems to be something different about this team. Maybe the training staff has something to do with it, but something is different.

In the first few games when the bull**** blew up, I thought to myself, "another year, more of the same." But I'm not so sure now. Bullpen improvement is obviously necessary, but I think we might have a few players on this team.

It just feels different.

Another solid post Rany.
I hadn't noticed the change myself, but once you point it out there does seem to be a new attitude.

I see that Gordon is up. I am actually excited by the lineup that includes Callaspo at second, Aviles at short and Gordon at third.

If they are truly trying to go with defense you have got to get Butler out of there. He can hit like there's no tomorrow, but he is brutal in the field.

If our braintrust could mesh together a bullpen, I am telling you we could compete for a playoff spot this year. That is probably too much to ask for though.

Reading your blog is the only thing royal related, that is tolerable at all. Thank you for your newest great read.

I agree with Nathan. Please let us know when the Rany on the Radio segment is going to start showing up. I heard them talking about it on 810 that it might happen tomorrow (Monday).

Really hope to get to hear you. I'm also curious what your take is on Louis Coleman, and whether he could be a help to the bullpen.

The training staff is better. Now, if the Royals can just get rid of Dayton Mooreon, all will be well.

I am not sure I agree with you about Meche's first start. I read a quote, I believe it was over at BP, by some FOT saying that Meche had no business facing major league hitters with his stuff that day. Reasonable minds can disagree over whether or not Meche was fully ready, but what would have been the harm in giving him a rehab start in AAA? Considering he signed through 2011, I think making absolutely sure his shoulder is good to go should be more important than squeezing one more big league start out of him this year. I think this goes to the heart of a bigger question, how much should the Royals be playing for 2011, and what sacrifices should they be willing to make in 2010?
As always, thanks for the post. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next one.

Well, the Royals lead the league in hitting and are 5-9. Bad omen for when their hitting tails off. Why is Mendoza still on the team?

Rany, can you please explain to me why in tonight's game (Tues 4/20) Hillman chose to let both Betancorp and Bloomquist hit for themselves in the 9th inning of a one run game, against a righthander, while Podsednik, Gordon, and B Pena all sat on the bench and watched?

I think my head's gonna explode if I watch this stupidity all season. Is our manager completely brain dead?

Bullpen blows another one, should have used Soria. they need to release the rest of the bullpen, this is ridiculous

No, we just need the starters to toughen up and go nine every night. The bullpen is for wimps!
