"If you watch the film, why not kick in at least what you would have spent on a DVD rental? After seeing Sita Sings the Blues, my feeling is that the sooner Nine Paley can start her next feature, the better."

Amen, Brother !

I would gladly have paid full price to see Sita in a movie theater . I can certainly chip in that amount.

Others as their conscience and/or bank account dictates.

At the very least because of what Nina Paley has contributed to show the vibrancy of independent animated features I think this is a "cause" that anyone who loves animation should get behind.

I received this in an email from Milton Gray:

"I just clicked on your link to Nina Paley's "Sita Sings the Blues" and I was extremely impressed. What address should we mail our donations to?

Also, you or someone should suggest to Nina that she should consider offering "preorders" for DVDs of her movie for, say, $25 per DVD. These would be donations until she receives, say, 2500 of these, at which point she would have the $50,000 she needs plus another $12,500 to cover the cost of the DVDs plus postage to send a DVD to each donor."

I dropped some cash for the cause. But, gad, I liked just about everything BUT the musical pieces. That kind of flash and graphic style is just an eyesore. I was pleasantly surprised that most of the film didn't look like that.
