I'd really like to know which effects animators worked on this scene, especially in shot 33.

Lots of Jaxon details in here.

Some reason (I don't mean to keep reapeating this name) but I think that Cy Young probably did the effects, because they really look like his work, compared to the effects he does for the Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphony cartoons.

However Cy Young's work is only mentioned in the first sequence, but I think he did more work than that, I'm guessing he did the effects for Lights in the circus, and a few other effects!

Who knows if there even is a Jumbo Sr... how do animals reproduce when their offspring are delivered by stork? Maybe he and Mrs Jumbo went dancing on the moon or something (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsJxoBKi1is), before he was hauled away to another circus.

Interesting how a few shots containing elephants (Mrs Jumbo, or the gossips' trunks) don't have any credit on the draft. I wonder if this means Tytla didn't animate on them as he did with most of the elephant shots?

Wonderful scene. The animation of the elephants is phenomenal. Terrific use of caricature in the Catty elephant. God, the more I look at it, the more I love Dumbo and respect Bill Tytla as an animator. He not only could pull off big, powerful characters like Stromboli or Chernabog, but sweet and simple like Mrs. Jumbo. I can only hope to have half the talent he had someday.

Tytla also animated a parent-figure in Pinocchio, you'll remember, doing some Geppetto scenes.

By the way, I don't know if Mark plans to cover these on this blog when he reaches those sequences, but over on my blog (darmokthegreen.blogspot.com) I've started a guide to the "deleted scenes" revealed in the Dumbo draft.
