William O. (Bill) Roberts was born 1899, died 1974.

Thanks for the information, Hans. Did anyone ever interviewed Roberts? I'm not aware that anyone did.

Hans is correct. I have some more on him: William Opal Roberts was born in Kentucky, August 2, 1899. He lived in Illinois in the late teens. Married to Lillian in 1929. He was a magazine illustrator living in New York c.1929-1932 and arrived at Disney in 1932 or 33. Roberts died in Tulare County, California, March 18th 1974. (His wife Lillian passed away five years later.)

Thanks for the information, Joe. Do you have any idea which magazines he might have worked for? Does anyone have an example of Roberts' work for print? Did he do any illustration work after leaving Disney, or did he leave the art field all together?
