The advent of "certified and slabbed" monster magazines has ushered in a new dimension in the purchase of paper ephemera and other collectibles. In my opinion, it carries with it the slight taint of rogue marketing as well. Pictured below is a slabbed copy of FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND magazine #14. Price? A mere 900 bucks.

I like the idea of a guaranteed condition, but not at 10 times the price!
