Somethign tha I'm surprised he didn't mention, given that the cover of his book begs this very question:

When the event was first transmitted, the Death Star had a simple combustive exlosion. Yet over the last ten years new footage has surfaced that shows some sort of giant plasma-ring emanating from, and centered on the exlosion. Almost everyone can recal the original explosion, and yet no one can find that footage.

Was the video tampered with? Why can't we find the other version? What don't they want us to see?

An excellent point. Similar issues have come up regarding the confrontation between Han Solo (instrumental in enabling Skywalker's the destruction of the Death Star, if the official version is to be believed) and the bounty hunter Greedo, specifically which of them shot first in the confrontation leading to the latter's demise.

Obviously, pro-rebellion revisionist propaganda has elevated this cold-blooded underworld murder into some noble act of self-defense on Solo's part.

Not too mention the sudden "appearence" of numerous creatures and beings wandering around Tatooine and other planets. A blatant attempt to increase populations numbers and inflate their representation in the Senate.

That ring isn't worth noting. Probably just outgassing.

Everyone knows that "outgassing" is actually caused by Jedis.
