Matt Singer on MyDD has audio of Kerry saying that McCain's people approached him about being the VP candidate on Kerry's ticket. This is potentially huge and could sink McCain's already "noticeably foundering" campaign, especially coming on top of stories that McCain was in discussions with Daschle about switching parties. Of course it's in Singer's interest to characterize McCain's campaign negatively, but Q1 fundraising totals lend support to that depiction.
