I remember laughing at this Onion article when it came out. Except now that's exactly one of the things they're proposing. The site recommended in the memos not only wants to discount evolution, and heliocentricism, but naturalistic explanations of gravity as well. Yes, they literally want to teach Intelligent Falling. Or at least that God is actively sitting there and poking geosynchronous satellites around so they don't fall on our heads...

It's amazing how much willful ignorance and bigotry can be packed into one letter.
Really, it's pretty hard to maintain a loving attitude towards humanity when it contains such specimens. The sad thing is the people who believe this crap probably have many good qualities. But my contempt for their stupid beliefs makes it hard for me not to write them off as hopeless.

Not only are they attempting to deny Darwinian evolution, but now it turns out they are linking to websites that dispute the Copernican model of the solar system. Really.
