This Kos diary by VoteHarder makes an interesting point: Second, the implication of the CBS headline ["Will Lebanon become Israel's Iraq?"] is that Bush's war in Iraq has reached such a low point that the media feels comfortable enough to conclude that the public has turned against the war, that they can use the Iraq-gone-bad conclusion to anchor their stories on other matters, i.e., the situation in Lebanon.
