I don't have much understanding of the history of the Turkish-Kurdish conflict, but I do remember this being a big issue people were talking about before the invasion. The fact that Turkey doesn't want an independent "Kurdistan" makes the partitioning solution that some have suggested for Iraq even more frought with difficulty.

Another possible not-good consequence of invading Iraq (in case you needed any more): possible confrontation with Turkey (via Taylor Marsh). Seems Turkish Kurdish guerillas/terrorists/whatever are using Kurdish Iraq as a staging ground or route into Turkey. Turkey is getting angry and threatening to send troops into Iraq, which would no doubt piss off the Kurds that are there.

Yeah, unfortunately this is something we would have to deal with even if we had had a well-thought-out invasion plan.
