Hi Bee,

Let me wish a happy birthday to Gloria and Lara as having this being their second full trip around old sol. In a way your postings about them have at times have me wish my two were again at that age; that is only of course if I too would be similarly affected. I guess what I’m saying is as with many things your children growing up is a once in a lifetime experience, whose memories pale in comparison to the moment.

”If you dream the proper dreams, and share the myths with people, they will want to grow up to be like you. “

-Ray Bradbury, "Bradbury's Tomorrow Land", Wired , Oct. 1998

Best,

Phil

"A source of amusement for us is how they construct causal and temporal relations." They have already exceeded the whole of US social, educational, and economic modeling. Cause and effect are Officially disproven by diversity. You might get them a Furby or two (considerably updated 2012 version, available in 24 languages). Twins evolve their own shared language. Break the loop. (Leave a copy of Misner, Thorne, Wheeler out. You never know...)

Birthdays may be good for you! Statistics indicate a positive correlation between people who have the most and those who live the longest. More studies are needed.

/* Gloria refers to herself as "Goo-kie" and to Lara as "Gah-kie" for reasons we don't know. */

Isn't it obvious? Glooria = Gookie, Laara = Gaahkie

Happy second birthday to the girls!! I also love seeing how the human brain develops - one of the very interesting things about raising a child.
