I'm looking forward to checking this out, but we do have a great sandwich shop at 14th & W -- Fast Gourmet!

Meh....Fast Gourmet is Taylor at 2/3 the price and twice the quality.

I tried Fast Gourmet once, and the sandwich I had was really, really salty. Like, two bottles of water salty. Maybe I just ordered the wrong sandwich, but it didn't blow me away.

Ugggg, the dreaded Taylor Gourmet. Dry Sub Sandwiches with nearly nothing inside for $10 and no mayo in site are so not my thing. Geez, I would have rather had a Subway. Speaking of subs in Logan...you MUST have a Steak n' Cheese Deluxe or the Portobello Sub at the new Pizzoli's at 1418 12th St. NW. Both are out of this world.

I'll miss Ruff and Ready... Taylor will have to do a LOT of renovation.
The building facade looks like it's ready to collapse.

You cannot seriously compare Subway to Taylor Gourmet. The market street hoagie (roasted pork with red peppers and mozzerrella and arugula) is out of this world.

Oh yeah, I had The Market Street at Taylor one time. It had the equivalent size of 2 COOKED slices of bacon worth of pork on it and was so dry I had to take it back to the counter and get them to pour oil and vinegar on it (and put more pork on it). They were not happy with either request. Taylor boast they are Philly style...pfff That's an insult to every over-stuffed Philly hoagie made daily in Philly.
I have heard that they got rid of the rock hard/break your teeth bread though.
Rather have a Subway? You betcha.

Subway is great if you want to eat a tasteless sandwich while breathing in the aroma of stinky feet. Fast Gourmet is awesome, true the Turkey can be salty, but the Tuna sandwich more than makes up for it. Look forward to Taylor Gourmet, we will see. I'm sure it is still better than Subway and their fresh baked bread. Yeah right..

Hi! Sorry to be annoying and post in the wrong place ... I wanted to send you an email but couldn't figure out where your address was.

My name is Lisa Friedman, and I'm the co-owner of a new natural pet boutique in Bloomingdale, a short walk from Shaw. I just wanted to introduce our store to you and, if possible, your readers.

Green Paws is an independent, family-owned shop located at 81 Seaton Place NW, just around the corner from the fabulous Rustik Tavern and up the street from Big Bear Cafe.

We pride ourselves on going out of our way to stock the best-quality food and most eco-friendly, treats, toys and accessories, and our experienced staff is eager to help with all our customers' pet needs. If we don't carry something your cat or dog loves, just tell us and we'll try to get it in. We also deliver! So please follow us on Twitter (@GreenPawsDC) for our latest sales and announcements, give a call or stop on by -- we look forward to meeting you and your furry friends.

Best,

Lisa

Yeah, another fast food spot on 14th is a poor substitute for the irreplaceable Rough and Ready. Hopefully they'll just move to another delapidated part of town like they did when the lost their lease in Adams Morgan some 20 years ago.

Bloomingdale ?!!? What state is that in? Never heard of it.
Sorry, but Logan NEEDS a Pet Supplies Store TERRIBLY. It's an overlooked market/need that if someone was smart they would be on it. Like yesterday.

P.S. I'm aware that "Green Pets" aka "Green Paws" left 14th Street for it's current location (Wayyy away) for many reasons...1 being the price of rent but no one can tell me that a well run, well stocked, well assorted, FRIENDLY pet supply store wouldn't do well in Logan. With all the pets in Logan...it's a no brainer.

Hi, Anonymous.

I'm not sure what place you were referring to there on 14th Street, but Green Paws has nothing to do with any other shop in D.C.

We are family owned (family being myself, my husband and our lap puppy Miles) and I hope that you do find us well-stocked, well-assorted and friendly!

As for Bloomingdale -- well, if you haven't heard of it, you should walk down and check out this neighborhood pronto. And not just to buy pet food, either. It's adjacent to Ledroit Park and it's one of the most neighborly neighborhoods I've ever been associated with. There's a great coffee shop (Big Bear Cafe) at Florida and R, Rustik Tavern which has a lamb pizza you wouldn't believe, a fabulous organic super market, some small art galleries and so much more. Please take a walk down here some Sunday and check out the Bloomingdale Farmer's Market -- you won't be sorry to spend your morning in this sweet part of D.C.!
