Matthew Green, cryptography professor at Johns Hopkins University, said his blog on NSA spying was shut down on university servers today, Monday, Sept. 9, 2013.

"I received a request from my Dean this morning asking me to remove all copies of my NSA blog post from University servers. The post is still up on Blogger, but a local University mirror of my blog was shut down," Green said on Twitter today.

While most of the information will be a revelation for those who understand cryptography -- everyone will understand this: The NSA has a clear channel for Skype. Everyone was fooled about Skype's claims for privacy.

As for the NSA cracking encryption, Green says, " ... All of this is a long way of saying that I was totally unprepared for today's bombshell revelations describing the NSA's efforts to defeat encryption. Not only does the worst possible hypothetical I discussed appear to be true, but it's true on a scale I couldn't even imagine. I'm no longer the crank. Later today, the same day that Green was asked to remove the blog, Johns Hopkins University said it was backing off on its request:

In as second case of censorship, EcoWatch writer Lauren Berlekamp said Facebook removed an event, the March Against Monsanto. The event promoted a march in St. Louis, Missouri, where the biotech giant is headquarted.
